Check it, I just picked up a few new albums that you have got to order (or get someone else to get them for you for Christmas!!! Can you say stocking stuffers!)
Clear Convictions – “The Mystery of Iniquity”
This is Clear Convictions sophomore album (for those in Rio Lindon, that means their second album). I do not have their first album, so I can’t compare it to their first album. Here is what is cool about the this album. There are two tracks on the album that are dissertations on the bible. Cool stuff, the background music on the tracks is a little out of place, but the biblical teachings on those tracks is really cool and reaffirms our beliefs as Christians. What I like about the album. The musical style is somewhere between hardcore and metal. With strong hardcore riffs and a bit of metal mixed in between, the album is heavy, so heavy in fact that the bass drum seems to drown out the rest of the instruments at time, but I love drums, so I don’t mind. The vocals are pretty guttural as well and lend a primal sound to the album. In all their are 10 musical tracks, and the songs roll into one another, I could imagine going to a Clear Convictions show and hear them play all 10 tracks off this album, one after another with no breaks. The album is a great album overall, if you like Clear Convictions, then pick it up. You

I love that whenever anyone conjures up the 12 Apostles of Christ, that we get this image of these great godly men that floated around and never did anything wrong. Like they were some kind of super-humans that were perfect. I remember growing up thinking I could never be perfect like these guys and follow Jesus. As I got older I realized that my perception is far from the truth, as is the perception of most people I believe. What really makes me laugh is that some “religious orders” put these guys on such a high pedestal that no one can touch them. This could not be further than the truth.
Here is a riddle, what do a murderous zealot, a money embezzler, a traitor, a second guesser, and a bunch of fisherman have in common? If you can’t guess, these are the backgrounds of the 12 Apostles. Not glamorous or lofty by any means. But that is how God works, calling the sinners from among us to be his greatest followers. Let’s take a look at and dissect Matthew 6:12-16
“Now it came to pass in those days that He (Jesus) went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called the disciples to Himself; and from them He Chose twelve whom He also named apostles: Simon, who He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Phillip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; James the son of

Who is Theophilus? Do you know a Theophilus? Do you have a Theophilus? I have been thinking about this a lot lately, and I wanted to share it with all of you. I don’t think I have a Theophilus…so who is this Theophilus? Well, turn with me to chapter 1 of The Gospel of Luke verses 1-4:
“Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed.”
So you are probably thinking, big deal, Luke, who wrote The Gospel of Luke, is telling some guy about why he wrote this gospel. But….we need to read deeper, and look at the situation. I think if we understand who Luke was, and who Theophilus was, then we can really understand the significance of why this verse is so important.
Luke was a gentile, not a Jew. All of the other Gospels in the bible are written by Jews. For those of you who don’t know, there are 4 Gospels in the bible. Why are there 4 Gospels? Because they all give a different account and angle of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Matthew (a

Well today is the day…..we have officially won the war in the Iraq. Mission truly accomplished. All major fighting has ceased and it looks like the Iraqi people are starting to take charge of their own country. God is doing good things in the Middle East, our troops are there and with them, Christ. He is spreading his word through sharing of the scripture and by our troops whom believe in Christ being great Christian examples of giving and compassion. So with pride, we declare today VICTORY IN IRAQ DAY!
Thank you ZombieTime.com for putting this together, it is long over due!
I declare November 22, 2008 to be “Victory in Iraq Day.” (Hereafter known as “VI Day.”)
By every measure, The United States and coalition forces have conclusively defeated all enemies in Iraq, pacified the country, deposed the previous regime, successfully helped to establish a new functioning democratic government, and suppressed any lingering insurgencies. The war has come to an end. And we won.
What more indication do you need? An announcement from the outgoing Bush administration? It’s not gonna happen. An announcement from the incoming Obama administration? That’s really not gonna happen. A declaration of victory by the media? Please. Don’t make me laugh. A concession of surrender by what few remaining insurgents remain in hiding? Forget about it.
The moment has come to acknowledge the obvious. To overtly declare a fact that has already been true for quite some time now. Let me repeat:
WE WON THE WAR IN IRAQ

We are declaring Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 Victory in Iraq day. By every measure, the United States and coalition forces have conclusively defeated all enemies in Iraq, pacified the country, deposed the previous regime, successfully helped to establish a new functioning democratic government, and suppressed any lingering insurgencies. Not only that, our soldiers are helping to convert Iraqis to Christianity. Spreading the word of God to our fellow brothers and sisters in the country. Our troops not only risk their lives to protect us and our liberties, but they also do God’s work by spreading the word of the gospel. See the quote below:
“In a newsletter published in 2004 by the fundamentalist group International Ministerial Fellowship (IMF), Capt. Steve Mickel, an Army chaplain, claimed that Iraqis were eager to be converted to Christianity and that he personally tried to convert dozens of Iraqis, which is also an apparent constitutional violation.
“I am able to give them tracts on how to be saved, printed in Arabic,” Mickel said, according to a copy of the IMF newsletter. “I wish I had enough Arabic Bibles to give them as well. The issue of mailing Arabic Bibles into Iraq from the U.S. is difficult (given the current postal regulations prohibiting all religious materials contrary to Islam except for personal use of the soldiers). But the hunger for the Word of God in Iraq is very great, as I have witnessed firsthand.”
Mickel evangelized Iraqis

Hey Everyone, just spent three nights in Chicago at the Ebay Live conference for work. The company I work for offers software that helps people organize and grow their eBay businesses. Cool stuff, the clients are a little salty, but fun to work with.
I got the chance to go to Reggie’s Punk Bar on Southside. Anyone that is in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. They have a nice bar, a really cool record store upstairs, and nice area where bands can play. I saw three bands play, Boys on Trial (they sounded a bit like Quicksand), Smartbomb (sounded like any punk band, sorry guys), and Far From Finished from MA. They were pretty decent and I enjoyed watching them play. There where only about 30 people on the floor, so there was no pit or anything, but I did jump in for a little while with some of the younger guys and goofed around in the pit. I did run into Tobin who sings for Flatfoot 56, nice guy, got to chat with him for about 20 minutes or so after the show. I am trying to convince them to do an interview for HXCChristian.com.
Safe to say, I am ready to get home. I had a ketchup malfunction this morning at breakfast that made my day. I went to shake the ketchup and the lid was not on, safe to say, I was covered in ketchup. Take care, catch up with you soon.
