God is Hardcore

Well, today is the day. Jesus was crucified for all our sins, for the sins of generations to come. He died for you and me. There are many people that don’t have a personal relationship with Christ, but he still died for them as well.

God is hardcore. He sent his only Son to die for man. The lamb (Christ) was the ultimate sacrifice for man. He was scourged, mocked, beaten, and nailed to the cross for my sake, and your sake, and I am thankful for that. Without God’s mercy and grace, I would be dead to sin and a slave to the flesh, but since Christ died for me and conquered death, it holds nothing over me. After-all, the penalty of sin is death, and if sin has no power over me, then neither does death. I have nothing to fear as I know that Christ paid the penalty in full for me. Christ rose from the dead to show that death had no power over him and set us all free. I am sad that Christ had to experience the worst treatment that man could dish out, but at the same time I rejoice because I know that without this sacrifice, I would have never been saved.

I love Jesus, and I know that he loves me. I aspire to live a good life that is pleasing to him, I hope that when I sit in front of Jesus when I leave this world that he approves of the things I have done and said. I am not saying that I am sin free, far from the truth, the flesh is weak and is prone to sin, but Christ dying for me means that sin has no power over me. This doesn’t give me a free ticket to commit sin, quite the contrary, I must live my life as an example and living sacrifice to the living God almighty.

Take time to reflect today on the gift that God has given you, without him, none of what you have or have done is possible. Take time to praise him and tell him you’re happy that he has paid your debt in full. Amen Lord!
